Nick Pucello joined Allen Insurance and Financial in January 2025 after a successful career on the water as a yacht and tugboat captain.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in small vessel operations as well as a master’s degree in international logistics management from Maine Maritime Academy. Additionally, Nick holds a 1,600-ton USCG masters license and a property & casualty insurance license in the state of Maine.

Nick’s extensive experience in the marine industry makes him a perfect fit for his new position at Allen. “I love connecting with people in my network of marine professionals and building new relationships. Problem solving and helping people tackle challenging issues is something I really enjoy,” says Nick.

Beyond his professional life, Nick has a passion for travel with his wife, and their dog Fig. When not working, you can find Nick pursuing his outdoor hobbies which include surfing, kiteboarding, and mountain biking.

Jessica Sanborn joined Allen in May 2024.

A licensed life and health producer in the state of Maine, Jess is an account manager in our benefits division, serving the needs of our group health insurance clients.

A graduate of the University of Maine in Orono, Jess holds a degree in mechanical engineering. Jess spent a decade working in loss control at Acadia Insurance and in human resources at a local medical center. Both experiences position her well for her role at Allen.

Jess enjoys helping clients navigate the complexities of their health insurance plans and is grateful to be part of the Allen team.

Outside of work, Jess enjoys crocheting and can make a mean chicken pot pie. On her bucket list is to attend the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.

Debbie Tyler joined Allen Insurance and Financial in September 2024 as our human resources manager. Based in Camden, she is the point person for company benefits, payroll, employee health and safety and onboarding.

A native of Rockland, Debbie is a graduate of the University of Maine in Augusta with a bachelor’s degree in social science. She held previous leadership positions in both childcare and human resources. She holds her SHRM-CP certification from the society of Human Resources Management. Debbie is a seasoned HR professional whose background is well suited to support Allen’s continued growth.

Debbie shares: “I like to support people and create a positive workplace culture. I enjoy the variety of tasks and never knowing what my day will bring.”

Outside of work, Debbie enjoys spending time with her family and creating homemade greeting cards.

Nichole Kindelan, CIC, ACSR, CPIW, became an Allen employee-owner in August 2023.

A native of Caribou, Maine, Nichole is a graduate of Northern Maine Technical College.

With 25+ years of experience in our industry, Nichole’s passion is building lasting relationships by working with businesses on their insurance needs so they can focus on running their business.

She says: “I love learning the background of businesses and their owners and why they love what they do so I can best work with them as their business needs grow and change. It is very important to make sure they have the right coverages in place to properly protect their business exposures through all stages.”

Throughout her insurance career, Nichole has embraced the value of continuing education. Her professional designations include Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Accredited Customer Service Representative (ACSR), Certified Professional Insurance Woman (CPIW). This demonstrates her commitment to her insureds and staying properly educated.

Outside of work Nichole enjoys running, hiking, volunteering in her community and spending quality time with family and friends.

Melissa Davenport joined our company as an account manager in January 2023. Sharp-eyed clients might recognize her name from a stint with GHM Agency (as our Waterville office was previously known), from 2005 to 2019.

Melissa has nearly two decades of insurance industry experience, having worked as a workers compensation adjuster in Connecticut and for GHM once before, also as an account manager in the business insurance division. She maintains both the Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designations.

Because she enjoys getting to know her clients and the new challenges each day brings when you work in our industry, Melissa is glad to be working at Allen Insurance and Financial.

Melissa is a graduate of Ashford University in Clinton, Iowa, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, listening to music, traveling and camping.
