Introducing our Summer 2022 Intern

Colby Mank of Union is Allen Insurance and Financial’s 2022 summer intern.

Mank is a senior finance major at Thomas College in Waterville. He plans to graduate in December.

Allen Insurance and Financial’s summer internship program creates the opportunity to learn about each of the company’s insurance and financial planning departments.

“This internship is a great opportunity for my growth as a professional,” said Mank. “The Allen team has been welcoming and encouraging – and they have so much to offer. I’m looking forward to hands-on experience in three of the areas I’ve enjoyed most at college: Investment management, marketing and risk management.”

Meet Nate Van Lonkhuyzen, our 2021 Summer Intern

Nate Van Lonkhuyzen of Rockport is Allen Insurance and Financial’s 2021 summer intern.

Van Lonkhuyzen is an economics major at Colby College in Waterville class of 2023.

Allen Insurance and Financial’s summer internship program creates the opportunity to learn about each of the company’s insurance and financial planning departments. Van Lonkhuyzen’s desk is based in the Allen Financial division and he is working under the guidance of Abe Dugal, financial advisor.

“From my very first day, I have been able to see how what I am being taught in classes is applied in the real world with actual problems,” said Van Lonkhuyzen. “Abe Dugal and (company President) Mike Pierce have introduced me to the high quality, team-focused model Allen Financial maintains. My goal this summer is to learn as much as I can so I can further develop the analytical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills I need for a career in finance. “

Accepting Internship Applications for Summer 2020

3/26/2020: We are pausing the application process for this program.

Allen Insurance and Financial is accepting applications for its 2020 summer internship program, which offers a 12-week immersion into the company’s three insurance divisions (personal, business and health) and its financial planning/investment management group.

Applications from college juniors and seniors will receive priority review; all applicants will be considered. This is a paid position, based in Camden.

Meet Our Summer Interns

Allen Insurance and Financial is hosting two summer interns in 2019. Both are graduates of Camden Hills Regional High School and attend colleges in Maine.

Jack Gallagher of Camden is a graduate of Thomas College in Waterville and will be working in both the insurance and financial divisions at Allen Insurance and Financial before returning to Thomas this fall to study for his MBA.

Daulton Wickenden of Rockport, who will be a fall 2019 graduate of Husson University, is focused more exclusively in the company’s personal insurance division.

“These internships will provide a complete immersion into the nature of our work at Allen Insurance and Financial,” said company president Mike Pierce. “Jack and Daulton will have the opportunity to put their academic experience to work to complete a variety of business assignments. We look forward to working with them this summer.”
