Allen Insurance and Financial has again been named one of the Best Places to Work in Maine. This is the company’s 12th consecutive year on this list.

“We are honored and grateful to be a Best Place to Work in Maine again this year,” said Michael Pierce, company president. “We participate in this program because it helps us learn from our employees. Their feedback is invaluable because it helps us identify where we excel, and, most importantly, where we can improve – for our employee-owners and, ultimately, for our customers.”

The Best Places to Work in Maine program was created by the Maine State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management, Best Companies Group, and Minneapolis-based BridgeTower Media, with the winners published by Mainebiz.

The program consists of two surveys. An employer survey accounts for 25 percent of the total evaluation while another survey measures the employee experience, and accounts for the remaining 75 percent. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final rankings, which will be announced in October.

The Best Places to Work in Maine list is made up of companies in three size categories: small (15-49 U.S. employees), medium (50-249 U.S. employees) and large (250+ U.S. employees). With its 95 employee-owners, Allen Insurance and Financial is in the medium size category.

Best Place to Work in Maine – 11 Years Running

Allen Insurance and Financial has been named one of the Best Places to Work in Maine.  This is the company’s 11th consecutive year on this list.

“Best Places results are based largely on the feedback of our employee-owners – what they have to say about our company. All of us have worked hard to maintain our place on the list for the past decade but given the personal and professional challenges we have all faced over the past couple of years, these results are more important, and gratifying, than ever,” said Michael Pierce, company president.

This statewide survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Maine, benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce and businesses. The Best Places to Work in Maine list is made up of companies in three size categories: small (15-49 U.S. employees), medium (50-249 U.S. employees) and large (250+ U.S. employees). With its 90 employee-owners, Allen Insurance and Financial is in the medium size category.

Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the Best Places to Work in Maine. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation.

The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final rankings. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Maine and also analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.

Allen Insurance and Financial will be recognized in the Oct. 17 edition of Mainebiz where the 2022 rankings will be released for the first time.

A Best Place to Work in Maine

Allen Insurance and Financial was recently named as one of the 2020 Best Places to Work in Maine.  This is the company’s ninth consecutive year on the list.

The awards program was created in 2006 and is a project of the Society for Human Resource Management – Maine State Council and Best Companies Group. Partners endorsing the program include: Mainebiz, the Maine State Chamber of Commerce and Maine HR Convention.

This statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Maine, benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce and businesses. The 2020 Best Places to Work in Maine list is made up of 84 companies in three size categories: small (15-49 U.S. employees), medium (50-249 U.S. employees) and large (250+ U.S. employees).  With 70 employee-owners, Allen Insurance and Financial is in the medium size category.

Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the Best Places to Work in Maine. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation.

To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

– Have at least 15 employees working in Maine;
– Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity;
– Be a publicly or privately held business;
– Have a facility in the state of Maine; and
– Must be in business a minimum of 1 year.

A Best Place to Work in Maine – 5 Years Running

For the fifth consecutive year,  Allen Insurance and Financial  has been named as one of the Best Places to Work in Maine. The awards program was created in 2006 and is a project of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) – Maine State Council and Best Companies Group.
This statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Maine, benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce and businesses. The 2016 Best Places to Work in Maine list is made up of 75 companies in three size categories: small (15-49 U.S. employees), medium (50-249 U.S. employees) and large (250+ U.S. employees).
Allen Insurance and Financial, with 68 employees in offices in Rockland, Camden, Belfast and Southwest Harbor, is in the medium category, which is the largest of the three categories, with 36 businesses making the list.
