Sophia Picard joined our company in 2024.

New to the insurance industry, she obtained her Maine property & casualty insurance license shortly after joining us. Her previous experience is in education.

She says: “I have enjoyed getting to know our clients here in Southwest Harbor, and rekindling relationships with community members that come into the office, who I haven’t seen in many years. I really enjoy the sense of community that comes with working here and being able to help the members of our little town.”

Outside of work, Sophia enjoys being outdoors and exploring with her two golden retrievers. In the warmer months she spends lots of time taking photos around Mount Desert Island and has been able to build a small business from her hobby.

Sophia is a Mount Desert native and a graduate of the University of Maine in Orono.

Angela Torell joined our company in December 2023.

New to the insurance industry, she recently obtained her Maine property & casualty insurance license. Before joining Allen, Angela worked in a sail loft, repairing sails and making custom marine products.

Angela is a natïve of Tremont and a graduate of Baker College.

Outside of work, Angela enjoys hiking, camping and kayaking. She always makes time to attend her daughter’s events and school activities.

Outside of work, Randi volunteers with the American Legion, helping those veterans in need because her husband is a military veteran. She also enjoys spending time with family. She lives in Lincolnville.

Caitlin Harrington joined our company in August 2023 in the newly-created position of retirement plan coordinator.

During her career in finance and non-profit management over the past 20 years, Cait has always enjoyed helping people. She will be assisting Allen Financial advisors on client retirement savings plans.

She says: “Everyone has dreams of what their retirement years will look like, and I get to play a small part in helping them plan for that future.”

Cait has a degree in accounting from the University of Maine and holds the Certified Professional designation from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP).

Cait and her husband have three children and two Great Danes. They live in Cait’s hometown of Appleton. She and her dog Wren are part of a dog agility group and she enjoys attending her son’s football and basketball games.

Kristen Baker joined our company in July 2023, bringing with her a decade of insurance experience.

“Insurance can be like a puzzle,” she says. “I enjoy the challenge of finding the best coverage for the best price for each client and knowing they have peace of mind that their assets are protected.”

Kristen holds the Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation.

She is a graduate of Rockland District High School (now known as Oceanside) and the New England School of Communications.

Outside of work, Kristen enjoys kayaking, spending time with family and attending her son’s school and extracurricular events. She is a library volunteer and member of the board of the Gibbs Library – the community library in Washington where she lives with her husband, son and their two cats, Skywalka and Perry Winkle.

Melissa Davenport joined our company as an account manager in January 2023. Sharp-eyed clients might recognize her name from a stint with GHM Agency (as our Waterville office was previously known), from 2005 to 2019.

Melissa has nearly two decades of insurance industry experience, having worked as a workers compensation adjuster in Connecticut and for GHM once before, also as an account manager in the business insurance division. She maintains both the Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designations.

Because she enjoys getting to know her clients and the new challenges each day brings when you work in our industry, Melissa is glad to be working at Allen Insurance and Financial.

Melissa is a graduate of Ashford University in Clinton, Iowa, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, listening to music, traveling and camping.
