We are looking for people with excellent customer service skills and a proven customer service background to join our team. The Account Executive works closely with clients to provide home and auto quotes and to service and process any changes to existing accounts. Account Executives will primarily interact with clients over the phone and on occasion in person.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assists existing and new clients with their personal insurance needs.
  2. Reviews renewals to determine if policies written in surplus lines can be rewritten to standard markets; prepares rewrite applications at least 30 days prior to renewal, securing and submitting required renewal underwriting information.
  3. Reviews and analyzes client accounts seeking opportunities to up-sell and cross-sell; actively solicits increases in limits/coverages or rounding out accounts.
  4. Receives client phone calls and visits; requests quotes, make changes to existing coverage and/or new policies; provides information to Assistants for change request processing within 24 hours of receipt of the information.
  5. Accepts and processes direct bill payments; assists in the resolution of billing issues.
  6. Assists clients with claims; regularly checks status of any reported outstanding claims and provides assistance as necessary.
  7. Documents all material conversations with insureds and/or carriers regarding exposures and coverages into agency management system (Applied Epic).
  8. Works cooperatively as a team with other Account Executives and Assistants to ensure client satisfaction.
  9. Attends and completes required training sessions and classes for continuing education and certification programs.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and effectively prioritize tasks to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Current Maine Property and Casualty license (consideration will be made for qualified candidates willing to obtain a license within 45 days of hire).
